New to mnemonics struggling with loci-system and foreign words

Hi .. I am a pharmacy collage student
I started learning mnemonics since 2 months and started application since one month
here are the problems I faced and hope people who struggled with them or know how to fix them help me ..
*mind my English it isn't the best*

1- the shortage of Loci
I live in a small crowded town and I don't even go out a lot .. only to hang out with friends and there aren't much places where u can do that
so here is the problem .. whenever I started memorising I think I am gonna run out of locations very fast because maybe the whole amount of locations in my head barely exceed 50 and most of them are small so I put one thing in each place
and while I study language .. or Pharmacuitical/Medical vocabulary there are ALOT of stuff to learn and it seems to me that I will run out of places very easily and this really turns me off from putting things in my head using mnemonics .. what am I doing wrong .. should I put more than one thing at a place .. and how do I Keep them from getting mixed up ..
I tried visualising my own memory palace but failed horribly

2- trying to memorise a word that is hard in itself and connecting it to it's symptoms/effects has problems because I find it very hard to even relate the word itself to something that I can understand *in pronunciation and typing* rather than memorising it alongside it's symptoms/effects .. it is not even fun I keep trying to rhyme it or anything and it takes me a long time before I can relate it
I struggle with this in both studying and learning new langs

those 2 things are the most turn offs for me from using mnemonics .. it would be a major help to my usage of it if someone could fix that

one last thing but it is not that important just curiousity .. what is the technique behind using the PAO system in memorising cards?
isn't PAO system based on numbers .. what does that have to do with cards

thank you for reaching this far :D

Look up real estate and vacation condo virtual tours and see if that helps with finding memory palaces

Welcome to the site.

1. Check out this guide for creating memory palaces/journeys. If you ever played video games, you can use those for journeys too. Also, this FAQ.

2. You get a lot faster with practice. I recommend doing drills of memorizing 20 words using only linking, like in the getting started guide. Try to get to 20 seconds.

PAO is having a person, an action, and an object for each of the 52 cards(or 100 digits from 00-99). So 00, or Ace of Spades, could be Sylvester Stallone hiSSing at a See Saw. Then, you can memorize 3 cards(or 6 digits xx-xx-xx) in one 'complex' image. The first card is the person of that image, the second card is the action the person is doing, and the third card is the object the person is doing the action to.

No problem.

You don't need to number them. If you create a number list first(00-99), you can use those images for cards as well. The way I did it was to take the major system letter, like 'D' in Diamonds, which would be the numbers 10-19, and use those same images for Ace through 10. Then I just needed the face cards, I picked them from the remainder.
