No email notification when a thread you participated on has new updated content.

Hi wonderful webmasters,

I love this site. I noticed for some time that when I make a thread or write a post on someone's thread, and someone else comments on it, I don't get an email notification.
In all forums I have seen (I've been a member in many software forums), there is always this feature of email notification.

The reason I'm distressed about this is because, I ask help in this forum as I'm a budding mnemoniser. When I ask a question and some good friend replies, I should be able to thank her/him and ask any additional help if necessary. If I don't respond, I will look like a bad person :-P

Also, I think that if this feature is correctly implemented, this stirs more discussion, making this forum richer with knowledge :-)

Currently, I am clicking my profile page and looking at the part that says "Latest posts and comments" And I have to check each one because I can't even sort the "Latest posts and comments" by date order.

Even as I type this, above I can see a checkbox (only when making a new post) above that says, "Do not send notification for this update." Even if I didn't tick it, still I don't get email notification.

I'm willing to share my settings page if you have any doubts.

Thank you,
John.

P.S. The email notification for private messages is working correctly. :-)

Sorry about that bug. I'm trying to fix it now. At the bottom of your post do you see a link that says, "Subscribe to: This post". If you click that link, does it say that you are now subscribed to the post?

If that works, I should be able to automate it when commenting on a thread.

Thanks for the reply.

When I click "Subscribe to: This post," it opens a new page.
This new page looks like this

On clicking the "create subscription button" it says "Your subscription was activated."

(The sentence "This link is not valid anymore." makes it look scary though)

Thanks for letting me know. I've checked with a test user, and I think that it's fixed now. (If it isn't, let me know.) I'll work on making it automatic when people comment.
