Open Turkish Memoriad 2016 (Results)


Hi folks. This weekend (1 and 2 October 2016) the Open Turkish Memoriad 2016 took place in Istanbul. It's the 10th in a row and happens annually since 2007. It's mainly for Turkish nationals, but as an Open tournament, many other nationalities can be invited.
The format is the same as the International Memoriad 2016 which will happen next month in Las Vegas. Therefore, 14 categories with 3 medals in each one. 7 categories of Memory, 6 categories of Mental Calculation and 1 for Speed Reading.
Briefly, looking at the official site, the results for 2016 were ,

MEMORY WINNERS
1. Speed cards - Selim AYDIN - All 52 correct 72.78" sec.
2. Spoken numbers (1 per second) - 27 points Ömer Faruk DOĞRU
3. Number/Shape recognition - 27 points Ömer Faruk DOĞRU
4. Flash numbers (1 per second) - 84 numbers Ömer Faruk DOĞRU
5. Binary digits (30 min) - 1770 digits Ömer Faruk DOĞRU
6. Names/Faces - İlayda ESER - 102 points
7. Numbers Memory (60min) - Ömer Faruk DOĞRU - 720 numbers

CALCULATION WINNERS
1. Additions - Shashank JAİN 34,9671 points, All 10 correct in 00:02:51,59"
2. Calendars - Jay Baldiya JAİN 103 per minute (with other trials, 98, 94, 69 and 68)
3. Flash Anzan Marathon - Shashank JAİN 4334,12
4. Multiplications - Shashank JAİN 9/10 correct
5. Square Roots - Shashank JAİN 345 points (Therefore 9 roots correct, and 1 with 6 correct and 2 wrong decimals, in 7th and 8th place)
6. Divisions (10 over 5 digits) - Shashank JAİN All 10 correct in 00:05:15,31
Speed Reading Winner - Ahmet Barış VURAL - with 966 WPM (Words per minute) and 60% comprehension, therefore 966 x 0.6= around 580 total effective points

Except the amazing scores in Calendar, the other scores are of course are lower than what is expected to happen next month in the International Memoriad 2016.
But this is understandable, since it's an Open and not a Global memory event. Nevertheless it was nice to see some scores in all of the 14 categories.
