Robert Fludd, The Memory Palace of Music

I found an interesting drawing with the caption, "Robert Fludd, The Memory Palace of Music".

I'm not sure if is the drawing is applicable to modern music theory, but it might give some ideas about creating a similar memory palace.

Unfortunately, it's not very helpful. Fludd is not talking about what any sane modern person would call "music theory" but only about tuning, and furthermore he's basing everything on the very problematic question of the Pythagorean scale. The issue is how to tune intervals based on perfect integer relations -- which doesn't work, by the way, for pretty much any known music. I think this image is from De Harmonia Mundi, which is fascinating but basically a bit nuts. Fludd had his moments, certainly, but you can't derive music from what he's doing except in a fabulously limited sense.
