The Memory Palace of Matteo Ricci

Hello,

I found the book " the memory palace of Matteo Ricci " written by Jonathan Spence on amazon.com, but I am not sure if the book is about memory palace technic or a biography of the jesuist priest Matteo Ricci.
If someone here have read the book, could write a review ?

thanks

Javier

You could read the reviews of it on Amazon? I have not read it, but often the reviews will tell you what the book is about, especially if it's nonfiction.

I read it years ago. Don't remember a lot of details, but as best I recall it was more about the man than the method. I am sure it described memory palaces and goes into the topic enough to convey how Matteo Ricci used mnemonics, but I don't think it went in-depth on the subject the way, for example, that Moonwalking With Einstein does.

I don't know, but I've heard about it in others scholars books about memory (i.e The Book of Memory, Carruthers), so I think it's about Ricci's method but in a historical fashion.
